Uniform

FIELD UNIFORM (Class A) - for 1st grade and up

Field uniforms can be purchased from https://www.scoutshop.org or in person at the 

Northern Virginia Scout Store, 

5232 Port Royal Rd, 

Springfield, VA 22151. 

You can also use a hand-me-down or check the local thrift store. 

Field Uniform consists of: 

• Shirts

  • Lion Scouts (Kindergarteners) wear the blue Lion shirt. 

  • Cub Scout button-up shirt, long or short sleeve. 

    • Scouts in Tigers, Wolves, and Bear dens wear the blue Cub Scout shirt. 

    • Scouts in Webelos or Arrow of Light can wear either the blue or khaki CubScout shirt. 

• Patches for uniform 

  • • American flag patch (right shoulder)

    • World scouting crest (above left pocket)

    • National Capital Area Council patch (left shoulder)

    • 2220 patch (left shoulder) - Advancement Coordinator will give you this.

    • You can purchase uniform shirts with the Flags / Council Patch pre-sewn at the Northern VA Scout Shop.

• Neckerchief and slide (Any slide is fine - save your money and do not buy a rank-specific one!)

• Hat 

• For Scouts in the Lions, Tigers, Bears, and Wolves Dens, they will also need a belt, as many awards that they will earn are ‘belt loops’. Any belt will do; it does not need to be the official Cub Scout belt. 

• Webelos do not need a belt, but will need their Webelos Color, a pin which you can get at the Scout Shop.

• Arrow of Lights do not have a required neckerchief or hat. Their Patrol can decide.

All other clothing items are left to the discretion of the Scout and adult. Regular street or exercise clothes are perfectly fine. There are official Cub Scout pants, shorts, and socks, but Pack 2220 does not require them. 

The Field Uniforms are worn to Pack meetings, most den meetings, and most Pack outings. 

ACTIVITY UNIFORM (Class B) - for all ages

The Activity Uniform consists of: 

• Pack t-shirt - blue shirt that can be purchased through our Pack Treasurer.

• LION Scouts (Kindergarteners) are only required to have a Class B uniform. 

All other clothing items are left to the discretion of the Scout and adult. Regular street or exercise clothes are perfectly fine. Activity Uniforms are worn during some den meetings, some pack outings as well as camp.
